For several years, he served as part of the Color Guard in the Salute to Veterans at Scottish Fest USA, over Memorial Day weekend, at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, where he will be accorded honors this year.

Please express our belated expression of sympathy to Edward Ries”s family. It was an honor to meet Edward at a Day of the Tartan at Balboa Park, buying his first book there. We were traveling to Scotland that year so we enjoyed all the sights in William Wallace country all the more after the great information that he shared with us about the Wallace Clan. And, yes we fell in love with Scotland and hope to return. God bless you all. Jake and Marlys Mantel

I loved Ed and he trained me when i was going into the Navy as Civilian DOD. I ended up doing the work for over 20 years.
Thank you Ed for your guidance and your love. I miss you and i miss working with you at Highland Games. I was sorry that i was not able to attend the funeral. I did ask Disneyland to do a flag ceremony in your name and they did with tons of active duty and veterans there with me. I did finally visit your grave last month and could not take myself away from you. You will be dearly missed and i will continue to help veterans and not retire.
