Of all the men in Scotland\u2019s past
\nThe memory of one will forever last
\nHe so loved by kin and kind
\nA more loyal man one couldn\u2019t find<\/p>\n
A man of pride and great height
\nThere is no doubt he put many to flight
\nNorthumberland Percy was shown no mercy
\nIn the midst of the fray at Bell \u201co\u201c the Brae<\/p>\n
At Stirling Bridge he won the fight
\nPerhaps he deemed it a Scotsman\u2019s right
\nFace to face with Plantagenet
\nEdward trembled even to imagine it<\/p>\n
Along the path of destiny he did stride
\nHis dear friend Kerlie by his side
\nSadly betrayed by one of his own
\nThis once Guardian of our throne<\/p>\n
In his enemy\u2019s captivity he died
\nHis death in no way dignified
\nLeal Scots would pray he found solace
\nThese words a tribute to William Wallace<\/p>\n
